On one of my other videos, a viewer asked me what my favorite beer was. I thought about it and then decided it was Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. Danish Red Lager.
Figueroa Mountain has four tasting rooms in Southern California. I have been to the one in Santa Barbara, which is located in the “Funk Zone” downtown and is a great place to try their beers. It has an outdoor covered area and live bands and is adjacent to Lucky Penny, which has great pizzas. You can order from Lucky Penny right there and they will deliver it to you.
The beer itself has a more robust taste than regular lagers and goes great with spicy foods like Kung Pao Chicken. However, it is not that good by itself as an afternoon refresher. With a 5.5% ABV, it is higher than most lagers and with 23 IBU has no bitter aftertaste. It has won a lot of medals at beer festivals over the years.
