I am new to worm composting and have already made mistakes. Four worms died, and although unconfirmed, it is possible they died from protein poison, otherwise called Sour Crop or String of Pearls. You will see worms looking unhealthy in this video, even in death.
The cause is that foods fed to the worms may consist of protein levels that are too high, so important to strike a balance with calcium-rich food. Crushed eggshells are food that provides worms with calcium.
