Tabitha is 16 and suffers from nerves and stress, and since 2020 has bouts of cystitis. I do advise an initial veterinary consultation to diagnose Cystitis so other conditions can be ruled out. For example, blockages which can be fatal for male and female cats.
You vet may want to express your cat's bladder but cats can stop themselves expressing urine. Your vet may suggest the syringe - unless an emergency, collect the urine at home. Tabitha cried from this which may be cry. This is why I collect the urine at home.
Alternatively you could look at human bed aid but in all honesty, you'll need to rebuy and there is a sizing issue if for a cat. My choice is machine washable, re-usable and wipeable.
