Listening: The Lost Art
Hi, It’s That Gratitude Guy with today’s 2-minute gratitude video: Listening: The Lost Art Be sure and listen for today’s Gratitude Tip of the Day. I have mentioned in the past that I have spent a considerable amount of time in Starbucks coffee shops as I have pursued my passion of spreading the advantages of living a life framed by gratitude. So, the other day I witnessed two gentlemen talking when a third gentlemen comes up and asks how one of them was doing and what he had been up to. The gentlemen mentioned that he had just returned from a trip to Hawaii, at which time the guy that asked the question goes off on a ten minute monologue about the last time he was in Hawaii. Have we just plain forgotten how to listen? I talk about gratitude a lot, and one of the things that I am grateful for is having a lot of close friends and acquaintances. One of the best ways to maintain lasting friendships is to just plain listen. If you are having difficulty focusing on being a good listener, using the following phrase can help a lot…… Tell me more…… I am so grateful that someone taught me that, and when used frequently, I assure you people will think you are the neatest person they.ve ever met. Now the gratitude tip of the day: Express your gratitude this week by simply listening, and using the phrase “tell me more” You might find a number of friends that say….. I am so grateful to have you as a friend.
