WRITTEN PATTERN: Start with a J hook Chain 40 Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, [sk next 3 chs, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch] repeat across, sc in top of turning ch; ch 3, turn (35 sts). Rows 2-34: Dc in first sc [sk next 3 dc, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp] repeat across, sc in top of turning ch; ch 3, turn. Row 35: Dc in first sc, ch 1, sc in next ch-3 sp [ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp] repeat to last 2 sts, dc in next sc, dc in top of turning ch. Switch to H hook Row 36: Ch 1, Do not turn, sc down the long edge of the hat. You should end up with about 70 sc, ch 10. Row 37: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch and sc across (79 sc).
