The Farm Store in Downtown Pottsville Celebrates Grand Opening

Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Farm Store in downtown Pottsville. The Farm Store is a farm-to-table grocery store located at 113 E. Norwegian St. in the city. It is owned by husband and wife, Josiah and Angela Meck, proprietors of Honey Brook Farm. In previous conversations with The Canary, the Mecks say they had a difficult time getting meats from their farm to the people of Pottsville, despite high demand. After securing funding from the Pottsville Redevelopment Authority to purchase the building and then another $100,000 for winning the Ignite Schuylkill business competition in 2024, the couple was able to open their grocery store in the city. The Farm Store features products from more than 30 vendors and plans to add more in the near future.
