Keir Starmer plans to send British troops to Ukraine for peacekeeping. The UK Prime Minister has scrambled to Paris for hastily arranged talks about an end to the war in Ukraine. While simultaneously in Saudi Arabia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. European leaders have been left looking blindsided and desperate by Donald Trump, who has relegated the likes of France, Germany, Italy, Poland the UK and Ukraine itself to the sidelines, while the real power brokers discuss the future of the continent. Starmer is also said to be considering overruling Rachel Reeves to pick up the pace on meeting his manifesto commitment to boost defence spending to 2.5 per cent of GDP.
