Politicians more closely associated with economic crime than oligarchs and London rent price climbs
1. The public more closely associates politicians with economic crime than oligarchs, kleptocrats and senior business executives, pollsters have found. Respondents most closely linked politicians – 55 per cent – with economic crime, when asked which professional class they associated with the term, according to the Survation polling. 2. Tube and train fares in London could be reduced on Fridays under a £24m plan announced by Sadiq Khan. The Mayor of London has asked Transport for London (TfL) to run a three-month trial aimed at increasing passenger numbers and boosting the economy by making all fares off-peak on Fridays. 3. The average price of rent in London has hit a record high of £2,631 per month, and is forecast to grow by three per cent more this year, a new report has found, but the market may hit an “affordability ceiling”. A study by property portal Rightmove said that this is just four pounds higher than the previous quarter, as the yearly increase of rents in London halves from 12 per cent last quarter, to six per cent now. #oligarch #economy #transport #londontransport #rentalproperty #rentprices
