Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today, we will delve into two impactful passages: the dramatic story of Susanna, in the Book of Daniel (Daniel 13,41c-62), and the powerful declaration of Jesus in the Gospel according to Saint John (John 8,12-20). Both readings tell us about light, justice, and truth — eternal values that lead us to full life with God. First Reading (Daniel 13,41c-62): The reading presents us with Susana, a righteous and God-fearing woman, victim of a false accusation made by two wicked men. She is led to condemnation, but even in the midst of injustice, she does not lose her trust in the Lord. God hears his plea and awakens in Daniel the spirit of wisdom and courage to intervene. Firmly, Daniel unmasks the liars and restores justice, saving Susana's life. This passage teaches us that even when we are surrounded by lies or unfair judgments, God does not abandon the righteous. He is the defender of the truth and, at the right time, his justice manifests itself. Susana's story is a testimony of faith, resistance and trust in divine action. Gospel (John 8,12-20): In today's Gospel, Jesus proclaims: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." This statement reveals who He is: the luminous presence of God that dispels all darkness. Even in the face of the Pharisees' incredulity, Jesus reaffirms his divine origin and his saving mission. By declaring himself the light of the world, Christ invites us to follow him with confidence, leaving behind the darkness of sin, doubt and injustice. In Him we find the truth that liberates, the light that illuminates the path to eternal life. Reflection and Call to Conversion Today, the Word invites us to be faithful to the truth and to walk in the light of Christ. Just as Susana trusted in God's justice, we are called to trust that He sees us, hears us and fights for us. And as followers of Jesus, we are invited to reflect his light in the world by living with integrity, faith and hope. May these readings strengthen your spirit and inspire you to live in the light of Christ. Leave in the comments how this Word touched your heart and how you have experienced the luminous presence of God in your life. 📖 Readings of the Day: First Reading: Daniel 13,41c-62
