Galicia and the Canary Islands have banned smoking in public places despite any hard scientific evidence to back it up. The regional government cite World Health Organisation research – despite the WHO itself admitting no clear work has been done to link cigarette smoke or cigarette smokers with higher COVID-19 transmissions.
