Vall de Pop Ukrania: Helping Ukrainian Refugees on Spain's Costa Blanca | BayRadio

Millions of Ukrainians are trying to find refuge during this time of crisis and many people, nationally and locally, have been very quick to provide help. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚.𝐜𝐨𝐦 was created - almost overnight - by Costa Blanca resident Richard (who was happy to remain anonymous during our chat), and with the generous help of others they're already providing housing and support for a number of those displaced. It's also now been officially recognised and registered as a charity. They aim to create a database of transitional housing options, as well as, volunteer services across the Vall de Pop region. It's important to note that there are contracts and protocols in place to protect both the property owners and the families requiring shelter. The organisers made the excellent choice of appointing another Richard - Xabia International College Director Richard Wijeratne - as an ambassador, and he came in for a chat with Moody to provide full details of what's involved and how you can help. If you are willing to help host a family from the Ukraine or volunteer any services at all, please fill out the form at www.valldepopukrania.com and they will connect you with those seeking refuge. Cash donations or offers of help through volunteering can also be made through our website www.bayradio.fm/donate Thank you.
